Boil water in a pot, add salt. The ratio of water to rice is 3:1 Once the water comes to a boil, add the rice. Simmer for 12 minutes, over very low heat, until the rice bursts. Add the milk, sugar and mastic, and stir. When the rice is cooked, dissolve the cornstarch in half a cup of cold water and, while stirring, pour it into the pot. Simmer for a while until it starts to thicken. While it is hot, divide the mixture into 6 bowls or 6 tall glasses. Let it cool and then refrigerate.
