Instructions

EASY INSTANT PITAS

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the pitas with a spoon until they are combined into a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Knead it for a few minutes with your hands until you get a pliable, soft dough.
  3. Cover and let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  4. When rested, knead lightly and divide into four parts.
  5. Transfer them to a floured surface and, with the help of a rolling pin, roll each one into a round pita.
  6. Shake off the excess flour.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and cook the pitas for 2 minutes per side.
  8. When they are cooked, they puff up but then their volume decreases.

BURGERS

  1. Soak the bread in milk for a few minutes, then drain and crumble it into a bowl.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients and knead until combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into oblong patties.
  4. Cook in a hot grill pan for 5 minutes per side.
  5. Fill each pita with burger, tomato, onion and yogurt or whatever else you prefer.
  6. Wrap the souvlaki burgers with parchment paper and serve.

Tips

  • Shake off the excess flour from the pita because it burns when cooked.
  • For more flavor, before cooking the pitas, lightly brush them with oil.
