Instructions

  1. Clean the pomegranates and place the seeds in a glass container with an airtight seal.
  2. Add the brandy, tsipouro, sugar, and cinnamon stick.
  3. Seal the container well and leave it in a cool, shaded spot for 20 to 25 days, shaking it regularly so the sugar dissolves.
  4. Strain the liqueur through a double layer of cheesecloth and transfer it to clean glass bottles.
  5. Pomegranate liqueur is traditionally served in small liqueur glasses, either plain or slightly chilled.
  6. For a more striking presentation, serve it with ice, pomegranate seeds, and lime slices for a distinctive, aromatic drink.
  7. It is excellent as an aperitif or a digestif after a meal. It can also be used as a base for cocktails with tonic, prosecco, or soda.

Tips

  • For a deeper pomegranate color, add two tablespoons of grenadine to the liqueur.
